Is Stumble Guys safe?

Stumble Guys

Stumble Guys keeps strangers at a distance, with no voice or text chat, which makes it calmer than most online party games. The trade-off is commercial. Scopely's label tracks purchases, location and identifiers, and the shop mixes random prize wheels, rewarded ads and an offer wall aimed at a young audience.

How the score breaks down

The overall score is the weighted average of these factors. Scoring rules

  • Privacy30% of score

    40 out of 100, Weak

Apple's label lists purchases, location, identifiers and usage data as used to track you, and Google Play says location, device IDs and purchase history are shared for advertising. Scopely names Meta, Google, AppLovin, LiveRamp and Criteo as ad partners; it limits data on younger players.

  • Security30% of score

    56 out of 100, Fair

Scopely runs a paid HackerOne programme, but Stumble Guys is in scope for reports only, not for bounties. Many players use device-bound guest accounts; the Scopely Account adds an emailed code login, with no two-step option. We found no reported breach of Stumble Guys accounts.

  • Transparency and control15% of score

    60 out of 100, Fair

Mobile and web players can delete their account in Settings under Privacy, and Scopely honours Global Privacy Control signals on its sites. Deletion is not possible inside the Steam or Xbox versions, and there are no spending or time limits in the game itself.

  • Scams and harmful content15% of score

    54 out of 100, Weak

Players cannot chat by voice or text, and Scopely said in July 2026 it is not planning club chat. But prize wheels sell random cosmetics for gems, an offer wall sends players to download other games, and Germany's USK rates it 16+ against Apple's 9+.

  • Regulatory record10% of score

    87 out of 100, Excellent

We found no fine, order or self-regulatory ruling against Stumble Guys, Scopely or Kitka Games over this game. No regulator has published a review of it either, so the score stays below 90.

Is Stumble Guys safe for kids?

Stumble Guys is one of the safer big online games for contact with strangers, and one of the pushier ones about money and data. Up to 32 players race through obstacle courses at once, but nobody can talk to anyone: there is no voice chat and no text chat. The catches are on the business side. Apple's privacy label lists four kinds of data used to track players across other companies' apps, the shop sells random prize wheels, and an offer wall pays gems for downloading other games.

We score it 55/100, below the Supercell games Clash Royale (58) and Brawl Stars (58) and level with Roblox (55), but for very different reasons. Its weakest point is privacy. It has no fines on record.

No chat, but friends and clubs

The help centre is plain about it: Stumble Guys does not support in-game voice chat on any platform. There is no text chat either, and at a developer Q&A in July 2026 Scopely said it is "not exploring adding a chat feature", even for clubs. Players express themselves with emotes, skins and footsteps.

What remains is a light social layer. Players can join a club, add up to 500 friends and invite them to a private custom party of up to 32. The friends screen recommends players of similar level, those you have played with, and players from your country, so a child can receive friend requests from strangers. Requests can be accepted, rejected or blocked. Contact that goes further has to move to outside apps, which is where a parent's attention belongs.

The App Store flags user-generated content. The game once had Workshop, where players built and shared their own levels, but Scopely confirmed in July 2026 that Workshop had been removed. Usernames and club names are what other players still write.

Prize wheels, ads and the offer wall

Stumble Guys is free, and the shop is built around Gems. The US App Store lists packs from $0.99 to $19.99. The Stumble Pass, a season of rewards, can no longer be bought with Gems: Scopely confirmed in July 2026 that it is now a paid-only purchase. The Wheels section lets players spend Gems on spins that pay out random skins, emotes and animations of varying rarity. Apple does not flag loot boxes on the listing, but Germany's USK rating, shown on Google Play there, sets the game at 16+ and names "in-game purchases (includes random items)", "increased incentives to buy" and "pressure to play excessively".

Two other features stand out for a children's audience. After a match, players can watch an ad to double their stars, and Google Play marks the game as containing ads. In the shop's free tab, an "Earn Free Gems" offer wall opens Unity Rewards on an external site, where players earn Gems by downloading and playing other games. That turns a 9+ game into a funnel for app installs, and it is the feature we would switch off first if we could. There is no in-game setting for that, so phone controls do the work.

What Scopely collects and shares

Apple's label for Stumble Guys lists purchases, location, identifiers and usage data as used to track you. Linked to identity for third-party advertising are coarse location, usage and advertising data, and the app also links purchase history, device and user IDs, photos or videos and support messages. On Google Play, Scopely says approximate location, device IDs and purchase history are shared with other companies for analytics, advertising and fraud prevention.

The privacy policy covers all Scopely games. It names Meta, Google, AppLovin, LiveRamp, Criteo, IronSource and Microsoft among its advertising partners, and says it collects inferences drawn from players' data to understand their preferences. Stumble Guys and Monopoly GO are the two Scopely games that let in players under the age of digital consent. For them, Scopely says it limits some features by age and collects and shares only what it needs for its own operations. The policy does not say exactly which features or ad partners are switched off for a child.

Adults in some US states can opt out of the sale or sharing of their data. Scopely treats a Global Privacy Control signal on its websites as that opt-out, and it extends the same signal to targeted advertising for players in the EU, UK and Brazil.

Accounts and security

A new player gets an account tied to the device. Linking a Scopely Account saves progress across phones, Steam and consoles, and logs in with a code sent by email; the help centre says this option may not be available to minor accounts in some regions. There is no authenticator app or second login step. Scopely runs a paid bug bounty on HackerOne, and both Stumble Guys apps are listed, but only for reports, not rewards. We found no reported breach of Stumble Guys accounts.

How to set it up for a child

  1. Turn on Ask to Buy or Screen Time purchase limits on iPhone, or purchase approval in Family Link on Android, before the first match.
  2. Explain that Wheels and the Earn Free Gems wall are ways to spend or download, not free gifts, and agree whether they are allowed.
  3. Check who your child accepts as a friend, and ask where they talk to those friends outside the game.
  4. Turn off ad tracking on the phone: "Allow Apps to Request to Track" on iPhone, or delete the advertising ID on Android.
  5. Link a Scopely Account with an email you control if progress matters, so a lost phone does not mean a lost account.

How we scored it

Privacy (40) is the weakest factor: the label tracks four data types and Scopely's ad partner list is long. Regulatory record (87) is the strongest, with no fines but no regulator review either. Scams and harmful content (54) balances the absence of any chat against random prize wheels, rewarded ads and an offer wall sold to a 9+ audience.

Questions people ask

What age is Stumble Guys suitable for?

Apple's US store rates it 9+ for infrequent cartoon violence and weapons, and flags advertising and user-generated content. Germany's USK rates it 16+ because of purchase incentives, pressure to play and paid random items. Scopely's privacy policy lets younger players in with limited features, and its terms require a parent's permission for anyone under 18.

Can you chat in Stumble Guys?

No. There is no voice chat on any platform and no text chat, and in July 2026 Scopely said it is not exploring a club chat. Players see each other's usernames, emotes and clubs, and can add friends, including players the game recommends from the same country. Friends talk through outside apps, which is where parents should look.

Does Stumble Guys have loot boxes?

It has prize wheels in the shop that are spun with gems or other currencies and pay out random skins, emotes and animations. Gems are sold for real money. Apple's listing does not show a loot box flag, but Germany's USK rating names in-game purchases that include random items.

Who owns Stumble Guys?

The Finnish studio Kitka Games made it and sold it to Scopely, the US publisher behind Monopoly GO, in 2022. Scopely has been owned since 2023 by Savvy Games Group, which is backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Scopely, Inc. is the company named on the App Store and in the privacy policy.

How do I delete a Stumble Guys account?

On a phone or the web version, open the game settings, tap Open next to Privacy, then Delete Account, and confirm by typing DEL. Deletion cannot be undone. On Steam and Xbox there is no delete button, so players have to send a data deletion request to Scopely.
