How the score breaks down

The overall score is the weighted average of these factors. Scoring rules

  • Privacy30% of score

    35 out of 100, Poor

Google Play says FlexTV shares purchase history, device IDs, app interactions, search history, installed apps, location, name, email, web browsing history and photos with other companies for advertising. Apple's label lists identifiers as used to track you, and the policy lets ad networks place their own trackers.

  • Security30% of score

    49 out of 100, Weak

No breach of FlexTV user data was found, and Mega Matrix's 2025 annual report describes encryption at rest and in transit and penetration testing. Payments run through Apple or Google. Support, billing errors and account deletion use a Gmail address, and we found no two-step login or bug bounty.

  • Transparency and control15% of score

    34 out of 100, Poor

Account deletion means emailing a Gmail address. The privacy policy has no date and does not name the company. Payments are final and non-refundable, billing errors must be reported within 30 days, and disputes go to arbitration in Singapore.

  • Scams and harmful content15% of score

    52 out of 100, Weak

Apple rates FlexTV 13+ for infrequent realistic violence, alcohol or drug references and weapons, Google Play rates it Teen, and the terms set the minimum age at 13, so the ratings agree. Shows come from the studio and its licensors; there are no parental controls.

  • Regulatory record10% of score

    88 out of 100, Excellent

We found no privacy or consumer-protection fine or order against FlexTV or Yuder, and no UK Advertising Standards Authority ruling. Mega Matrix's 2025 annual report says no material legal proceedings are pending. Few regulators have looked at short-drama apps yet.

Is FlexTV safe?

FlexTV is a real app from a company that publishes audited accounts, and we found no breach or regulator action against it. Its problem is what it charges and what it shares. We score it 47/100, level with NetShort (47) and a point below ShortMax and DramaWave (both 48). A weekly VIP plan costs $29.99, its Google Play declaration shares more data types for advertising than any rival we have checked, and refunds and account deletion run through a Gmail address.

It is smaller than the market leaders: Google Play counts more than 10 million downloads, against 100 million or more for ReelShort, DramaWave and ShortMax.

Who runs FlexTV

FlexTV is operated by Yuder Pte. Ltd., with an address in Singapore's Kaki Bukit industrial area. Yuder belongs to FunVerse Holding Limited of the British Virgin Islands, which belongs to Mega Matrix Inc., a Cayman Islands holding company headquartered in Singapore and listed on NYSE American. Mega Matrix bought 60% of FunVerse in January 2024 and now owns all of it, according to its annual report for 2025.

That report gives a view few short-drama apps offer. Revenue from FlexTV memberships and top-ups fell by about $10 million, or 31.6%, in 2025, after the company cut back its own productions from May 2025 and moved to licensed content. Mega Matrix also now holds digital assets as a treasury strategy. The cybersecurity section describes encryption at rest and in transit, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, and the legal proceedings section says no material case is pending.

What FlexTV costs

FlexTV is the most expensive app in the genre by weekly price. The US App Store lists a weekly VIP plan at $29.99 and a monthly VIP plan at $49.99, plus one-time purchases from $4.99 to $29.99. Left running, the weekly plan costs about $1,560 a year. An App Store reviewer wrote in June 2025 that the $30 price made them give up on a story, since "other apps charge at most $20". That is one user's account, and the listing shows it is still the price in October 2026.

The terms leave little room once you pay. All payments "are final and non-refundable", followed by a capitalised line saying FlexTV will in no circumstances be required to refund payments, "whether used or unused". There is no price protection when FlexTV changes prices or runs promotions. If you think you were charged by mistake, you must write to [email protected] within 30 days, after which "no refunds will be given". Disputes go to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, with one arbitrator and proceedings in English.

What FlexTV shares

This is FlexTV's weakest area. Google Play's data safety section lists more than a dozen kinds of data that may be shared with other companies, every one of them for "advertising or marketing" among other purposes, including purchase history, device IDs, app interactions, in-app search history, the list of installed apps, approximate location, name, email address, user IDs, web browsing history, and photos and videos. That is a broader sharing declaration than NetShort, which we found the most data-hungry of the earlier group.

Apple's label is narrower but points the same way. Identifiers are used to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and contact details, photos or videos and identifiers are linked to you, partly for the developer's own advertising. The privacy policy says FlexTV may let advertisers and ad networks place their own tracking tools in the app to deliver personalised ads, and may receive data about you from ad networks. It says data may be stored and processed outside your country, without naming where.

The policy itself is thin. It carries no date, although it promises that "we always indicate the date when the last changes were published", and it never names the company that operates FlexTV. Only the terms of service do.

Is FlexTV OK for teenagers?

On paper, yes, from 13. FlexTV is unusual in having store ratings that match its own rules: Apple rates it 13+, Google Play rates it Teen, and the terms say it is not intended for children under 13. Apple lists infrequent realistic violence, alcohol or drug references and weapons, a lighter set than rivals that list sexual content. The stories are typical of the genre, with titles like "Abstinent CEO's Pregnant Sweetheart" and "A Flash Marriage With The Billionaire Tycoon". There is no kids mode and no purchase PIN, and at $29.99 a week the bigger risk for a teenager is the bill.

How to use FlexTV more safely

  1. Look for the price and the word "weekly" before you tap. Most rivals charge less for the same model.
  2. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings at least 24 hours before renewal; the app listing says the charge comes in the last 24 hours of the period.
  3. On Android, deny any request for photos, and delete or reset your advertising ID. On an iPhone, tap "Ask App Not to Track".
  4. On a teenager's phone, turn on Ask to Buy or Google Family Link purchase approval.
  5. Report a wrong charge within 30 days, and ask the store for a refund at the same time.

How we scored it

Regulatory record (88) is FlexTV's strongest factor: no fine, order or ad ruling, and an owner whose SEC filing reports no material proceedings; it stays below 90 because few regulators have examined short-drama apps. Transparency and control (34) is the weakest, reflecting deletion by Gmail, an undated policy and strict no-refund terms. Privacy (35) is close behind, set by a Google Play declaration that shares almost every data type for advertising. Scams and harmful content (52) is higher than for most rivals because the age ratings agree with the terms.

Questions people ask

Is FlexTV legit?

Yes. FlexTV is a real app run by Yuder Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, a subsidiary of Mega Matrix Inc., which is listed on NYSE American and files annual reports with the SEC. The episodes you pay for do play. The complaints are about price, since the weekly VIP plan costs $29.99 on the US App Store.

How much is FlexTV VIP?

On the US App Store, the weekly VIP plan costs $29.99 and the monthly VIP plan $49.99. One-time purchases range from $4.99 to $29.99. A weekly plan left running costs about $1,560 a year, more than any rival plan we have checked.

How do I delete my FlexTV account?

FlexTV's terms say you must email [email protected], and the company will guide you through the process. Deleted accounts cannot be restored, including paid content. Cancel any store subscription first, because deleting the account does not stop Apple or Google billing.

Can I get a refund from FlexTV?

The terms say payments are final and non-refundable, and that charges you think are wrong must be reported within 30 days. If you paid through the App Store or Google Play, ask the store directly from your purchase history, since Apple and Google apply their own refund rules.

Is FlexTV OK for a 13-year-old?

It is one of the few short-drama apps whose store ratings match its terms. Apple rates it 13+ for infrequent violence, alcohol or drug references and weapons, Google Play rates it Teen, and the terms set the minimum age at 13. Many stories still revolve around CEOs, pregnancies and betrayal, and there are no parental controls.
